Prematurity

Babies born before the 37th week of gestation are considered premature. Depending on the degree of prematurity, these babies may require varying levels of assistance in developing their sensory systems. They may need respiratory physiotherapy, postural adjustments, and massages. In all cases, the physiotherapist observes the baby’s progress to detect any deviations from normal development as early as possible. Early treatment of these issues prevents the development of compensations that are more challenging to correct once they become integrated into the child’s motor schema.
